Item Description
Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox tower over their friends John Henry, The Mighty casey and pecos Bill, on this Pop-Up FDC from 1996. The FOLK HEROES issue celebrated these four legendary 'over-achievers' who have entertained and inspired generations of Americans.This FDC, franked with a Plate Number Block of the se-tenant stamps, was created, I believe, as a reward to the AFDCS volunteers who do so much for the hobby, and was presented to them at either AmeriCover, or through the mail.
The cachet is printed in just two colors, but looks like more! The cover fits into a regular sleeve or album space, but opens up to nearly 12" to give these heroes their due!
This is the last FOLK HEROES FDC in the artist's archives!!
