A scarce, son and mostly-complete new haven, connecticut post office [_circa._ 1861-66] strike that is listed/traced in the skinner-eno catalog . . .

_note that some "hidden" paper flaws may be present that do not adversely affect the appearance of this classic stamp or its fancy cancellation._ _ _

_ those fancy strikes that are being offered as having a "listed" skinner-eno [s-e] catalog number identification possess the same dimensions and exact characteristics of the s-e tracing. If any minor differences are noted, the suffix "var" or "a" indicates a determination that the offered item exhibits most of the essential characteristics and dimensions of the s-e tracing, but probably is simply a variant of the s-e listed design. These variants usually represent the re-carving of the prototype or original design. _
