Paper shortage? On may 18, 1898 schley;s flying squadron was sent by acting rear admiral william t. Sampson to cienfuegos to pursue the spanish squadron under the command of admiral pascual cervera y topete. When sampson received news that cervera was in santiago he initially vacilated before ordering schley to investigate. Schley was victorious in the ensuing battle yet samspon tried to take all credit even though he wasn't even there! Sent 1918, opened cleanly at backflap, adhesion on face, some general wear and toning. Fine condition. Base shipping is $2.00 domestic and $3.00 international.
