Roy sawyer in shephard, michigan with faint receiver. Includes a 3-page (5 sides) letter from camp poland from william murphy to his brother and sister. Murphy notes they haven't shipped out to c1uba yet and doesn't think they will anytime soon, much of the letter is personal yet there is a good account of the new guns only shooting a caliber 30 yet with much force and smokeless powder. There is also mention of a large 8x10 photograph taken of the 1st west virginia and the 6th ohio eating dinner on thanksgiving day which will be sent home soon. Sent 1898 (stamp damaged), opened/reduced at right, some general wear and toning. Fair-fine condition. Enclosure with normal file folds. Base shipping is $2.00 domestic and $3.00 international.
