The image shows the effigy of the honoree, accompanied by two birds in full flight. These birds, known as “coleirinhos”, are a metaphor for the man who, deprived of his freedom, “cries, a slave, in a cage”, exiled from the presence of his loved ones, from his land. Coleirinho, curiously, is characterized by a predominantly black plumage, with some white feathers that resemble a collar around his neck; the black collar, attached by the neck to a hypothetical white chain, brings up the very metaphorical image of the black man enslaved by the white hand. However, in an attempt to distance itself from a symbolism that harks back to a past of pain and exploitation and fails to glimpse a horizon in which historical knowledge and personal overcoming give rise to collective emancipation, the image proposes a certain revisionism and critical positioning in the face of history, finding in the figure of Luiz Gama the exemplary vate of this black man who recognized the social complexities of which he was a victim, but did not bow reverently and impotently before them. He learned to read, became a poet, writer, journalist and, finally, a courageous abolitionist lawyer. In this last case, an essential consonance: The lawyer, in his trade, “liberates” through his voice, his eloquence and his speech. These characteristics give a concise ending to the illustration, where the little birds, so attributed to freedom, by their flight and song, untie the knot in Luiz Gama’s throat, as if he, now freed, could announce to his peers, with his voice and cry: FREEDOMEstimated time to receive (in days): Locus Minimum Average Maximum America and Europa 10 20 45 Oceania 16 28 50 Africa 18 26 50 Asia - Japan 12 20 45 Asia - Russia 20 38 60 Asia - Others 15 31 60
