I apologize to all philatelists out there. My dad is 85 years young and I am trying to help him "downsize" some of his stuff. Stamps appear to be "some of his stuff". What I know about stamps would probably fit on the stamp itself, but I am trying to look things up as I go. This item is a single, one cent, Ben Franklin, first issued in 1890. Blue color. Hinged. No watermark and no corner triangles. Printed by the American Bank Note Company. The stamp is in nice condition, but is offset to the top and right. There is an 1892 postmark on the stamp (a part of which was over the stamp, but I can't read where it was cancelled).
