An unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile was launched at 12:33 a.m. February 5 in a test from Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara County. its re-entry vehicle traveled 4,200 miles to the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands as part of a developmental test. The launch was the first for Vandenberg to host since it became a part of the Space Force, which was established in December 2019.
