AN-178 is a Ukrainian medium transport turbojet aircraft developed by the Antonov State Enterprise on the basis of AN-148 and AN-158 passenger aircraft.
The carrying capacity of the aircraft is 15-18 tons, the maximum cruising speed is 825 km/h, the maximum flight height is 12.2 km. The plane can land and take off from various airfields, including those with ground cover, which gives advantages to its promising military transport option.
AN-178 made its first flight on May 7, 2015.
The aircraft can carry a wide range of self-propelled and non-self-propelled equipment, various cargoes, including pallets and heavy-duty containers, which makes the AN-178 a very effective vehicle for logistical support in commercial operations, as well as for use in emergency situations.
