1974 Canada Kaulbach Island 9 Cents First Issue Birds Boston Show Overprints Set/4 MNH Shipped Folded as Received. Kaulbach Island – named after past owners of the island is peaceful, private and sheltered. The Island is part of the drumlin formations along the south coast of Nova Scotia. This special issue was made in honour of The Boston Show, an international philatelic event. The original sheet featuring birds native to Kaulbach Island was overprinted BOSTON/1974. The top row of the sheet was removed during overprinting, resulting in a 5 x 5 sheet.
3,849 sets were sold, with 1150 used on first day covers. Thanks to The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC).
