This is a sterling silver proof medal struck by the franklin mint. The medal weight one (1) troy ounce. The edges are reeded with exception for the frankin mint hallmarks and the word "sterling". The diameter of the medal is 1.5 inches (1 1/2"). The obverse (front) of the sterling silver proof medal depicts patrick henry deliverying a speech to the delegates of the first continental congress in carpenters' hall. The reverse (back) of the sterling silver proof medal states, "on september 5, 1774 delegates representing the american colonies opened the first continental congress at carpenters' hall in philadelphia, pennsylvania. Their resolutions set the colonies firmly on course towards independence and freedom." above this inscription is a likeness of carpenters' hall. Below the inscription is the franklin mint hallmark. The sterling silver proof medal is in mint perfect condition.
