Item Description
An interesting postcard sent from Lisbon, Portugal to Toledo, Ohio. This was franked with a 3.50 escudo Europa stamp (Portugal Sc # 995). Strange thing is that this has a US Navy cancel and It received a 'POSTAGE DUE 4 CENTS' handstamp. Not sure what the story is here. Sailor visiting Portugal forgot to mail on shore so dropped it in the mail onboard the ship, but that's US Postal system so needs US stamps? Interesting piece of postal history.Seller Information
