Item Description

1964 - Chinese Hell Banknotes (Joss Paper Money). These never had and legal value and they were never not issued by an government. Rather, they were funeral supplies to be burned as an offering after someone had died to ensure they would not have financial difficulties in their afterlife. These notes all have the same reverse. The fronts feature President Kennedy, President Johnson, Ho Chi Minh, Stalin, and Kruschev. All are in nice shape. The Stalin note is of a lighter hue than the others. If you notice any lines or shading in the image, neither is on the bills. they're due to the way the scanner capptures the clear acrylic flap that holds the bills in place on the stock sheet.
