This Lot is a 1953 Netherlands Set of 5 Flowers, Scott #B249-53 Used on First Day Cover sent from Gravenhage, Netherlands to Medan, Surinam, Indonesia. Stamps are tied to cover by "GRAVENHAGE 1 MEI 1953 / EERSTE DAG VAN UITGIFTE" illustrated first day cancel. Stamps have deep rich coloring, four margins with slightly varied centering (all nice), and excellent perforations all around. Cover itself measures approximately 189 mm x 100 mm, very slightly rounded corners and nice straight line edges, and clean surfaces front and reverse sides - overall Very Fine condition. Please see pictures of front and reverse sides for quality and condition. Scott 2024 Catalogue values the set of 5 stamps alone at $14.25 in used condition - not counting value of FDC cover.
