Item Description

Full mint sheet of 50 - 3 cent stamps issued in 1948 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the start of the California Gold Rush. The stamp shows a view of Sutter's Mill, Coloma, CA, where James W Marshall's 1848 discovery started it all. The picture below shows one of the stamps from the sheet. Sheets of this era may have minor perf faults but are otherwise as fresh as the day it was purchased at the post office 70 years ago but it is suitable for framing. If you're a stamp collector, it is Scott #954. I may have a variety of plate numbers and positions available so ask if you are looking for something in particular.
