Up for auction is a beautiful censored letter sheet cover from Sari Neumann in Jerusalem Palestine to the International red cross in Switzerland inquiring about Fabian Klein in Hungary. Dated October 13, 1943. In excellent condition. During WW 2 people could write the red cross in Switzerland to inquire about the whereabouts of refugees, prisoners of war, concentration camp detainees, and more. As many Jews, communists, dissidents, and other social and political undesirables disappeared into the concentration camp system in particular, inquiries to the red cross increased. rare postal history item.
