Item Description

This Lot is a 1942 India Stamped Envelope, Higgins & Gage #B17, in Used condition addressed from Lahore to Rahway, New Jersey. Stamped Envelope is franked with supplementary postage on reverse side - Scott #153 (x5), 168 (x2), 170, 174 (2) and 179 - all tied by India double circle date stamp. Stamps and indicia have deep rich coloring, stamps with four margins (1A narrow at bottom) and varied centering, and nice perforations all around. Cover measures approximately 123 mm x 97 mm, has nice straight edges and fairly sharp corners, and is clean with light wear front and back surfaces from postal handling. Cover front bears several auxiliary markings, diagonal return address, and Censor tape and hand stamp along left edge. Please see pictures of front and reverse sides for condition and quality.
