Grade: UngradedUp for auction is a beautiful Censored cover from a child named Elisabeth Heinrich in KLV Camp Piestany in Slovakia to her Family In Germany . Postmarked in June 17, 1941. In excellent condition. Nice stamps marks and cancels. Great postal history. As the air war intensified Germany evacuated children from the cities where they were subjected to Allied bombing raids and sent them to the countryside to live in KLV camps, Kinderlandverschickung where they were safer. There were over 2,000 KLV camps throughout Germany and occupied Europe. This is an underexplored area of world war 2 postal history. Covers are relatively scarce.
