Up for auction is a beautiful cover and letter from a prisoner in the concentration camp of Mauthausen Gusen in Germany occupied Austria. Konzentrationlager KL Cover written on camp issued stationery. From a prisoner named Jaroslav Natusek . Postmark is not legible but appears to be 1941. Priced to sell. Missing the envelope

For the serious collector of Judaica and Holocaust related philately this is an exceptional item. Cover is in very good condition but has had a chunk torn out of the corner.

Mauthausen was a massive concentration camp complex in Austria designed to kill through forced labor the "incorrigible enemies of the reich", it tended to have political prisoners and members of the intelligentsia in it rather than criminals and the ordinary undesirables of the Third Reich (i.e., Jews, gypsies, Slavs, etc.).
