Up for auction is a beautiful censored cover from the International red cross prisoners of war agencies in Geneva Switzerland to The pow camp Stalag 6 C Germany . In excellent condition. During WW 2 people could write the red cross in Switzerland to inquire about the whereabouts of refugees, prisoners of war, concentration camp detainees, and more. As many Jews, communists, dissidents, and other social and political undesirables disappeared into the concentration camp system in particular, inquiries to the red cross increased. And as in this case, families who were residing in opposing countries could write to family members via the Red Cross.
