Item Description

This Lot is a 1939 Air Mail Cover featuring Mozambique Scott #289-92 Used Set of 4 stamps on cover from Lourenco Marques to Tom's River, New Jersey. Stamps have deep rich coloring, four nice margins with slightly varying balanced centering, and excellent perforations all around. Stamps are tied to cover by two nicely placed six-sided "POSTA AREA MOCAMBIQUE / 30-8-39 / LORENCO MARQUES" cancels. Stamps have topical Africa map image. Cover itself measures approximately 139 mm x 110 mm, is clean front and reverse sides, with slightly worn corners and straight edges from expected postal handling. Cover has vertical crease mid-point where lightly folded - very lightly affecting right edge of 20$ stamp. Please see pictures of front and reverse for condition and quality.
