"Songs for Southern Workers: 1937 Songbook for the Kentucky Workers Alliance" by Don West.

Southern folk poet Don West prepared the songbook in 1937 for the Kentucky Workers Alliance, a component of the Workers Alliance of America which was dominated by the Communist Party of the United States after seized control of the organization from the Socialist Party of America. Don West repeatedly denied that he was ever a "card-carrying member" of the Communist Party, although he freely admitted to being a fellow traveler and working with party members toward the same end.

This edition was republished by the Appalachian Movement Press in 1973 as radical left-wing began to revive based on the unpopularity of the Vietnam War.
