Item Description
What a great cover! February 2, 1934, cancellation on 3 cent 729, which celebrated the Chicago Century of Progress Exhibition. Sent from Punxsutawney, PA, "Home of the Groundhog" (so the cover boasts). The groundhog image really makes the cover, which was sponsored by Philatelic Flashes of The Punxsutawney Spirit, Frank A. Costanzo, editor. [Trivia: "punxsutawney" is from the Lenape language (part of the Delaware Nation) and means something like "land of the sandflies" or "land of the mosquitoes."]Seller Information
