Item Description
1915-1918 Gaujacq France Prisoner of War Camp General View of Camp. "Opened in April-May 1915 in a small village in Chalosse, the camp of prisoners of Gaujacq sheltered several hundreds of German soldiers until the end of the Great War. The camp takes place in a quarry of stone, In the opposite direction to that of the French conscripts, the prisoners, who passed successively through several depots, went to work in Gaujacq, where the arms were wanting: in the quarry, but also in the forests, agricultural holdings or public works, and in these difficult circumstances the population will witness the presence of these "war workers" in the Luys Valley between Gaujacq and Castel-Sarrazin. Latappy, General Capdepont, entrepreneur Bautiaa and engineer Blavet will quietly play an important role in this endeavor."Due to the sometimes fragile nature of the vintage and antique items that I sell; special attention is always given to packing to ensure that your purchases arrive undamaged.
