1914 WW One France Delandre Poster Stamp Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry South Africa 1900-1901 Unused Hinge Remnants 70% OG. The Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry was a British Army regiment that served in the First World War. The regiment was formed in 1828 and provided troops for the Imperial Yeomanry during the Second Boer War.
They remained in Great Britain for the first years of the Great War, but sailed for France in 1917. The regiment served on the Western Front as infantry. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission has 45 recorded WW1 deaths for the Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry. The regiment was based at Portland Place in Penrith.
