1914 WW One France Delandre Poster Stamp Australia Hunter River Lancers Unused Hinge Remnants 60% Original Gum. The 12th/16th Hunter River Lancers is an Australian Army Reserve cavalry regiment. The regiment was formed in 1948, but its lineage dates back to the 1880s. The Lancers have fought in many battles, including Gallipoli and the Battle of Beersheba. They participated in the 4th Light Horse Brigade charge at the Battle of Beersheba on October 31, 1917. The Lancers are based at GAZA depot, a heritage-listed building that has been used for military purposes for 103 years. The building's grounds include a museum that's located in a converted domestic house. The Australian Light Horse was a mounted infantry unit of the Australian Imperial Force (AIF). They fought at Gallipoli and in Egypt and the Middle East. They contributed to the Allied victory against the Ottoman Empire in the Sinai and Palestine Campaign. Wikipedia
