Item Description

This Lot is a 1914 Libya Scott #1 on black and white photograph postcard depicting ancient Roman tombs. Stamp is tied to photo side of postcard by "POSTE MILITARE / 11.7.14 / (CIRENE)" circular date cancel. Picture of stamp and cancel is provided. Same cancel appears on Address side of postcard. Stamp has deep rich coloring, three good margins with fourth at left having perforations at edge of design, and excellent perforations all around. Postcard measures approximately141 mm x 91 mm and has sharp corners and sharp straight edges. Front and reverse side of postcard are clean with light aging of paper. Post card has no address or remarks. Please see pictures of front and reverse sides for condition and quality. Similar cards sell on Hip for approximately $8.00-9.00 US.
