Item Description
A fascinating 1911 U.S. Postal Card originally sent from Beaumont, Texas, and addressed to J. Emory Renoll in Hanover, Pennsylvania, before being forwarded to State College, PA. This card is an excellent historical artifact, featuring business correspondence related to stamp collecting.This vintage postal card is franked with a 1-cent William McKinley pre-printed postal stamp, canceled with a Beaumont, Texas postmark dated October 13, 1911. It also bears a Hanover, PA receiving mark (October 16, 1911) and handwritten forwarding instructions redirecting it to State College, PA.
The message on the reverse, typed in purple ink, is a request for stamp collections:
"Dear Sir: I want Jubilees and commemoratives of U.S. and all countries, at good discount. From 5 to 20 copies each. Can you submit a lot?"
It is signed by C. B. Megarity, Box 694, Beaumont, Texas—highlighting the active market for philatelic materials at the time.
