1911 Germany Poster Stamp Hamburg Children's Aid Day (Kinderhilfstag) Unused. Label Art By: Franz Karl Delavilla Was An Austrian-German Graphic Artist, Illustrator, Designer And Art Professor. A wonderful original Art Nouveau Cinderella stamp depicting a poster titled Kinderhilfstag - or Children's Aid Day - held in Hamburg, Germany in 1911. The image is monogrammed and dated in the print by the Austrian artist, illustrator, designer and academic Franz Karl Delavilla. Delavilla created jewellery, posters, postcards and book illustrations among other decorative items for the Wiener Werkstatte from 1904 to 1932, having previously been taught by Carl Otto Czeschka and Berthold Loeffler, whose influence you can definitely see in this fabulous 1911 poster design. He was also an art teacher and eventually a professor, and was working at the Hamburg School of Applied Arts at the time he created this piece.
