Hot on the heels of the Broadway extravaganza, The Wizard of Oz, Fred Hamlin and Julian Mitchell created another smash hit, this time an operetta composed by Victor Herbert while he was one of the most prominent symphony conductors in the United States. It was even more exciting and anxiety-producing for children than The Wizard. Following its initial closure in New York in March of 1904, the show began a nine-month nation-wide road show before returning to Broadway in January 1905. This program is from one of its first stops in Boston. Scrapbook remnant on the reverse.
