1900 France Entrance Ticket Universal Exposition Paris 1 Franc Excellent Condition With Little Wear For Its Age Appears Unused. The Exposition Universelle de 1900 was a world's fair held in Paris from April 14 to November 12, 1900. The fair celebrated the achievements of the past century and showcased the world's greatest achievements from the century before. The fair featured flying machines, the Grande Roue ferris wheel, diesel engines, talking films, escalators, and the first magnetic audio recorder. The fair welcomed 50 million visitors. A voucher for 20 francs from 1900 gave the right to 20 admission tickets to the fair. The main entrance to the fair was the Porte Monumentale, a controversial structure on the Place de la Concorde. Ticket booths were located beneath the grand arch of the Porte Monumentale. The fair was the largest and last of five Expositions held in Paris in the 19th century.
