This stampless letter bears a Philipsburg Me manuscript postmark dated May 30. It bears manuscript 25 rate mark, and is addressed to Captain Joseph L. Dennison aboard the Brig Globe at New Orleans. The text of the letter is dated 1852 and remarks that since it has been so long since they heard from each other the writer had though his friend was in "Davy Jones Locker."
