Approximately 10” x 13”."Dearest Mae" was an exceptionally popular minstrel song made popular by the black-faced group, the Harmoneons. Dearest Mae is referenced in the original lyrics of "The Yellow Rose [of Texas]" along with another beautiful African-American woman, Rosa Lee: “You may talk about your Dearest Mae / And sing of Rosa Lee” before its lyrics became race-neutral.
Light toning. Removed from a privately bound album of sheet music, so rough along the left edge.
