1831 incoming ship stampless folded letter at New York. Partial red CDS at bottom; "ship" handstamp and 77 rate in manuscript (triple rate over 400 miles, plus 2 cent ship fee); endorsement at lower left, final destination of Medford MA. Content is datelined from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
