1803 stampless, black apr 18 portland me, ms. "10"- amos partridge, letter *wow*

This is one of the oldest us circular date stamps i've ever seen!
Anybody know what the earliest one is?
The letter is on ribbed / laid paper.
Amos Partridge was Keeper of the Prison in Augusta.
This letter refers to need of a payment of bail bond.

Amos Partridge was born on 25 November 1768 in Sherborn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Reuban Partridge and Mary Perry. Amos married Hannah Rockwood, the daughter of John and Hannah (Frost) Rockwood. Hannah was born 21 March 1770 in Oxford and died 5 November 1853 in Augusta, Maine. He died on Saturday, 9 September 1854 in Augusta, Kennebec County, Maine, at age 85 years, 9 months and 15 days.
