Item Description
The Prominent Americans series ran from 1965-1978 but while the USPS lists 27 stamps in the series, the Scott Catalog only lists 20, omitting 7 stamps issued between 1970-1974. How this came about I don’t know. The group of 7 includes denominations not in the set of 20. This listing favors inclusion. The 27 stamps included are: 1278 1279 1280 1281 1282 1283 1283B 1284 1285 1286 1286A 1287 1288 1289 1290 1291 1292 1293 1294 1294 1393 1393D 1394 1397 1398 1399 1400.
