Item Description

This unaddressed 1979 event cover, commemorating the '10th Anniversary of the Man on the Moon / Splashdown,' was franked by a 15-cent Fort McHenry American Flag coil issue of 1975, Scott 1618C. The stamp is tied to the envelope by a Honolulu, Hawai'i circular date handstamp.

The cachet depicts a recovery helicopter and some of its crew on an inflatable.

Verso is covered with an account of the return to Earth and includes the Fleetwood Golden Jubilee logo.

The backflap is un-sealed and intact. No contents.
