Item Description
January 23, 1970 Vice President Spiro Agnew Free Frank & card with signature sent to Colonel H. Frank McCaffrey in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and forwarded to Lake Worth, Florida. On October 10, 1973, Spiro Agnew became the second Vice President to resign the office. Agnew resigned and then pleaded no contest to criminal charges of tax evasion, part of a negotiated resolution to a scheme wherein he was accused of accepting more than $100,000 in bribes during his tenure as governor of Maryland. As a result of his no contest plea, the Maryland judiciary later disbarred Agnew, calling him "morally obtuse." Open at flap...flap in tact. Corners mostly sharp. Light foxing at bottom left. Enclosed card corners sharp...no creases, nor bends, clean. Inquiries are welcome.Due to the sometimes fragile nature of the vintage and antique items that I sell; special attention is always given to packing to ensure that your purchases arrive undamaged.
