Hi Phil !, I like your 9N68.. I am a fan of that stamp too. Below is a First Day Cover on a card showing the ERP Pavillion.. Illuminated at night to show the member states flags. Also a nice use on a card with the schedule of the Marshall Plan Train. I hope the Team enjoys seeing these. (I have a nice use of 9N68 on Cover in my Store)
Those are extraordinary cards, Dan. The pavilion is really neat. Those few years of hope and rebuilding after the Hunger Years of 1945-47 are special to me as a student of history. So much of the best of our modern world came out of those years, and I wish that today's folk were not so proud of themselves to learn from that time.
Thank-You Very Much Phil!.. I too, am a student of history & this Post War Era is of Special Interest as well. Your gracious sentiment is expressed in the scarce Machine Slogan from Greece "WAR IS OVER- RECONSTRUCTION NOW BEGINS"
I have been meaning to share some of our other collections for some time. We have three china cabinets and a curio case full of depression glass, collectible china, wine glasses, & etc. A couple of weeks ago Herself went to the storage room and found four boxes of....
Priorities my friend. When Harvey came through here a couple years ago, the guys at the package store told me they saved a case of bottled water for me. I told them I didn't need the water...we got over 40" of free water from the sky in 4 days. I told them to make sure the power stayed on and that they had plenty of beer in stock. Mercifully, they did. Priorities.
Phil, In another lifetime, my "other" and I collected depression glass. It was a lot of fun scouting all the antique malls trying to find pieces that were not overpriced. I was always on the lookout for Beaded Block, cobalt Aurora, and Pyramid (I see a green footed tumbler, left of center).
Yeah. Those were fun days. I am still able to walk into an "antique" mall today, look over the floor and decide in a moment to go in or walk out. Doric is one of my favorites, and Doric and Pansy, Floral and Diamond, Parrot, and a 1950s pattern Morrocan Amythist. We also have lots of dragonware, geisha girl ware, luster ware, oh, make me stop....
But back to stamps. Here is something new, and when i saw it i just couldn't stop myself. I displayed the perforated set earlier, here is Monaco 280-82, 1951, Radio Monte Carlo set, imperf, lightly hinged.
Ooof. I got them out of order.... And there is also this, Bernuda 49, 2/ value KGV 1920, ultra and dark violet, hinged. I admire these high value key plates. I just cannot afford them.

But this begs the question: why did Jack Kennedy call himself a Berliner and not a Bismark that famous day in Berlin? I doubt we shall ever know...
Those are eclairs and/or long johns (not the underwear)
Top: Bismarck
Bottom: Eclair
That's what we call 'em in New England.

Good night America, and all the ships at sea...
