  NFC4 GREEN AND NFC5 FOR PURPLE.3.50 mint 3.00 used green and 5.00 mint and 4.00 used for purple according to van dam catalogue.

  The Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (NSSC) has them listed as CD4 & CD5. The 1 cent green is valued at 3USD Mint and 2 USD Used. The 5 cent red violet is valued at 5USD Mint & 3USD Used. On document or cover they are both valued at $250USD. My copy of the catalogue is a little older so values may be slightly different in the latest issue.

  Bill, On that site I found something that puzzles me. What is a Manitoba Search Fee stamp?

  If you google it you can find out. Everything is available on google.
  I assume that is a stamp for a fee to do things such as title search etc.

  I don't know if this information helps much, but I find it confusing when NFLD issues are categorised as Canada. NFLD did not become a part of Canada until 1948, when its own stamps ceased to 'exist'.

  Newfoundland became part of Canada in 1949 and Newfoundland stamps were valid for use in Canada. They still remain valid for use today. In addition, Newfoundland Inland Revenue stamps were in use well into the 1960s.
