Scott's New Listings Update

Time to vent. I collect Scandinavian stamps and would like to have the Scott numbers. however, some of the Scandinavian countries rarely appear in the listings. There are a lot of 2021 listings missing yet. Greenland just made it into the February, 2023 listings but hadn't appeared since October, 2021. Norway last appeared on June, 2022 and May, 2021 before that, Sweden appeared on May, 2022 and September, 2021 before that. Denmark last appeared on August, 2022.

I talked with Linn's a couple of months ago. I was told that their aren't enough hours in a day. I was also told that the Scandinavian Countries aren't very popular. I was also informed that some countries aren't very cooperative. I noticed at the end of 2022 that Stampworld and Colnect had all of the listing through 2022 including the Christmas stamps.he listings will probably be in Scott's 2024 catalog when they are listed.

My understanding is also that their new listings rely on the various postal authorities reporting their new listings to them. I don't know though how or when those countries do report their new issues.

I don't know why they would reot them to StampWorld and Colnect and not Scott's.-

There are two people at Amos who do the new issue listings. Vent all you want, but there are thousands of stamps issued each year. There aren't many collectors subscribing to Linn's anymore, so no subscribers, no money, no new employees.

I read in Linn's some years ago, that Scott does not list stamps until they have received the actual stamps in their hands.

Ted, that is generally true.
