  • Hi Shawn,
    Is this on cover?
Also if you are shining the light directly onto the stamp, it won't enable you to see it.

But yes it 100% has a secret mark. I can also tell you, it's not on soft pours paper. And with a secret mark, that means it's a continental issue. If it were grilled, it would be J-Grill and that would likely be very obvious as I mentioned previously about the J-Grill. So unless this is one of the reprints (which is unlikely, but I can't tell you unless I have it in hand, as it's a color issue, and no way to be certain of color when cameras and monitors are involved).
99% or better likely that you have ID'd this correctly as a 156. Probably a bottom right margin copy given the massive space in the left and bottom margens.

  • I’m getting better ! Did see possible evidence of a grill in the head area of the stamp but I think your right
  • I'm traveling at the moment, but when I'm back in my office, I'll do a quick post on how to recognize these, with a couple image examples.
I see no trace of a grill in your current photos, but that's got to do with how the images were taken.
(Though in fairness, I would say this isn't likely going to be grilled).
  • I don’t see the grill either
