Order cancelled because of vacation settings
Hello Admin
I had posted a discount for two #2544A Blocks a while ago. This was a mistake, the discounts were supposed to be for two #2538 sheets. I am not sure whether it was my error, or a hip stamp error, but the 20% discount was activated for the #2544A Blocks. I hadn't noticed this until a while later I received a message from a buyer (joejp) expressing interest in the discount and asking to negotiate. I immediately took the discount down and explained the mistake to him. He went ahead and ordered many items for the full price. I was on vacation (with vacation setting) so I sent him a message apologizing for the delay and that I will honor any discount that I previously had, since it may have mislead him. A week later, August 9th, he sends me a message demanding me to "refund" the $24 discount immediately out of his payment. I had not seen the message until he sent another message, 20 hours later saying he wanted a full refund to cancel the order ($194). I gave him the full refund as soon as I saw the email the same day. If he didn't cancel so fast, I would have saw the message and refunded him the $24 discount like I promised.
I should add that I had to put an "extended vacation" after my planned vacation ended. I was having trouble returning to the States from Europe. I notified my buyers with my new planned return date though. The order had been open for a month and I was going to send it in 5 days after this exchange as soon as I returned to the US.
Am I in the wrong? Did I violate any of Hipstamp's rules?
