last try system is cutting my chatter post\ sorry but I do want to send this.. for you to read

I want to say how proud cddstamps are of the fact we have now reached 45,000 positive feedbacks but sadly, in all honestly, I cannot because 15 or so thousand have been from automatic positive feedbacks. Which, let’s be blunt here, are worthless even though we know our customers are very pleased with our service because they have written to us to say so when they realise they cannot leave feedback.
Please enjoy the following – a little real life story or two…
Customers have told us how pleased they are with the quality of the stamps, the quality of the packing, secure against rain for example – that makes our head packer so pleased - our inclusion of an invoice, the fact we do not just put a few stamps loosely in an envelope when the stamps are Mint with full gum. and the fact all our mint stamps are always in a black mount for quality protection and our prompt dispatch of orders received.
We get very nice feedback and we appreciate that, especially since it has often been taking up to 6 to 9 weeks for orders to arrive - oooooops over the 45 days before automatic feedback kicks in - because of international mailings impacted by Covid, local postal services impacted by weather - especially in the US where we hope everyone is safe and warm - and just slow postal services in many parts of the world in general.
But our customers don't complain - well one did and even they apologised to us - and we value that. They know their orders will eventually arrive safe and sound. Many of them have even commented they are sorry they could not leave feedback. But as we all know that is the way it is now.
We recently had a customer in Malaysia. It took three months for the first order to arrive - Manila - Kuala Lumpur, three months wow!! - yet a second order 4 weeks after the first, arrived in 8 weeks. We know because they wrote a kind thank you and sorry they could not leave feedback in the system.
Australia, we see three weeks on occasions, rare occasions I might add, but usually between 6 and 9 weeks, oooops again outside the 45 day limit - Basically we estimate now that about 50% of our current orders are getting automatic feedback and only because the customers are not getting them within 45 days.
We had one customer down with covid. Knocked for six for 6+ weeks he wrote - yep automatic feedback. Thankfully he is recovering now.
The automatic feedback for US based sellers to US based customers may be OK if that is what sellers want – far be it for me to tell you, all that does is make the feedback system a count of how many listings we all now sell.
Whatever, thank you to all our brilliant, understanding and quality customers. We hope many other collectors will pop into our store and enjoy our stamps and perhaps even add a few to your collections and yes, have to wait a few weeks or more for the order to arrive.
Enjoy your collecting

  • Could not possibly agree more. Automatic feedback, regardless of the 45 days or whatever it may be, is meaningless so any serious. The real deal is what matters, for better or for worse. The buyers who choose not to leave any feedback do so for their own reasons. Those who choose to leave any feedback do so for their own reasons. I agree that in the current shipping climate, and much more so for the international dealers, the 45 day policy is, well, just plain stupid and random. But again, bigger than that, let the customers who choose to leave any feedback so it on their owns terms and time and if they choose not to, that's ok too. Random, automatic feedback is completely meaningless, both to the dealer and to the customer. Rant over. Keep poking the bear Michael!
  • Here's an idea: Get rid of the feedback system all together.

  • Well , at least the comment part … it’s a tool I use to determine if the seller may be skanky
  • Agree with you Scott and Rene, get rid of the positive/Negative part and keep the comment section.
  • A lot of collectors do not want to leave feedback because they don't want people seeing what they buy, especially when it comes to auctions. By doing the "45-day" thing you pretty much make this their privacy concerns irrelevant.
  • good point Harry. Thanks for sharing that.
  • Well, I got to thinking about your comment a bit Harry and I understand the thought process and sentiment but....and a BIG BUT...every time someone buys something from ME, it gets picked, packed, and otherwise prepared for shipping. As soon as that task is complete, I send the buyer feedback thanking them for their purchase, welcoming them to the store or welcoming them back as the case may be, and giving them information as to when it will ship to them. As soon as I do that, anyone can see what they purchased and from whom actually. So, that information, for the most part, is easily found for those who want to find it. Anyway, as the great philosopher and shrimp boat captain, Forrest, Forrest Gump once so eloquently said, "Tha'at's all I have to say about tha'at".
  • Greg, Good point. I just offered an alternative to the ones previously mentioned.
  • 10-4 good buddy!!!

45 days to post feedback is totally insane. Perfect example is an order i made for 10 stamp lots from UK. this is the second time the seller has not gotten the items to me in a reasonable time whereas before it took two months. he has a huge amount of bad feedbacks and all of this tells this large seller that this behavior is ok as he will get good feedback before this is resolved. This happened with the last order also. HS gave him good feedback. It really ticked me off ,too. Every other dealer in the UK i have dealt with is fantastic. My guess is he is avoiding thousands of Bad feedback with this insane policy.. Perhaps the only solution HS can understand is for the buyers to auto leave Negative feedback after 30 days for any item that has not arrived?

I might add, I have never left bad feedback here for anyone. I would like that option though and I certainly do not want HS leaving feedback for an item(s) that was not shipped to me. This can and will in time tick off more than enough sellers to stop buying here. a fact and this feedback policy is totally unprofessional on managements part.
