Besides the fact that its a circulated silver certificate 1 dollar bill, in pg23 grade shape makes it worth 2 to 2.50 max regularly. But there's the front of a DIFFERENT ONE STAMPED ON THE RIGHT SIDE.....
So, with errors on uncommons it can get funky with pricing. Thoughts on posting this on eBay for a ridiculous minimum (I was thinking 5k min, no limit) just to see? Or does anyone thing i should pay the cost of grading so I know first?
Don't think it's worth grading, but it is a very interesting error. Was contemplating how such an error could exist. Would you mind posting a photo of the front as well? And please make sure to get the ENTIRE note in the frame. The one you posted above is missing the left side.
I know a thing or 2 about Currency Star Notes and Low Cerial numbers and errors I know for a fact the prices on such currency is worth well over Fave Value even more so if Old Old and in Mint to near Mint condition. My coin collection is more advanced then my currency collection though.
As you can see, fairly circulated stained look. Almost non existent looking error at the back bottom. Explains why so many people missed it. In fact, took me counting them upside down to catch it (cause it looked like i had a folded one or one right side up in the pile).
I literally have hundreds of silver certificates, and most star notes or 1935's ish are worth a bit more, but all in all, 2 to 2.50 max in most cases for this note, except.....
PS-George that was what I was thinking also, good looking out.
So, its been a while and I have been buying and filling, and cataloging as I go. Its a slow painful process of minimally valued junk it seems, however im adding things to the book. So...what is this? Even the seller didn't have it identified and im having trouble locating it anywhere....
I was finishing saudi when I found it, and have no idea.
In fact, that is the Saudi royal cypher or seal. It is sometimes used on Saudi postage stamps instead of an English or French inscription, just as the Japanese imperial chrysanthemum.

Even if you can't identify the writing, the crossed swords and date palm tree are typical of Saudi symbolism.
Did I mention I used to live in Saudi?
