  • Hey DC, that's a BIG image for some small stamps.
Why not take it horizontal and get some clear photos, rather than a giant black space.
  • I had to crop it and rotate it , it was so long. I couldn't do it without giving everyone taco neck syndrome....

Need to check with a uv light (the top row), but I think I've narrowed down 90% or so of these. These were very challenging.

Felt kinda good about it and since its been not too exciting in here lately, I just wanted to post some fun. I also ordered the last color for this set today off of here and I'm stoked. There was only 1 left on here...

Nice Collection DC of Britain Revenues love these I'd show mine but apparently I lost how to post pictures I don't do Facebook stuff like that anymore but here working on it forum's don't work for me but listings dose odd how that works can't I just take a picture from my phone n post it simply because it never works for me!
  • Thanks Brett! I decided to build a side collection with grandpas extras because I was digging the British stamps in general. Also, the color differences between types was killing me, so I took Scott's earlier advice (somewhere in here) and built a real life color swatch for myself!
  • @Brett Moulton
Photos have to be less than 2MB to be posted, so maybe that's why you can't post them. Check the file size.
  • Your welcome DC n I agree there is many color verity in GB as well as same design just slightly different easy to miss identity some other country revenues is also like this due to color resemblance like Canada, Australia, France, American n such been collecting Revenues from all over simply because Revenues in general are pretty dame cool the verity is mind blowing, same with Postage Dues, Stock Transfers many different so glad I got a good assortment the hardest part for me is finding catalog number n price quotes due to lack of catalog I'll add that to my Christmas stamp needs list as well as clean up my old desk for better work space then on my sofa and need a bigger surface area to place stamps on n post pictures/display from my current listings the white back ground is from my canvas painting just flipped over n the 1 black back ground is easily identified as a black stock sheet, did I also mention I bought a small artist canvas isle for stamp display would also work great for coins cost me only .98 cents lol

Thanks Scott I looked into my photo gallery n all my pictures consist of 4-8MB each so that said not sure how to make it 2MB or less so I can post n share here! Hopefully don't have to make it so pictures look like fuzz just to fit the 2mb or less mark lol
  • Most photo editing software will allow you to change the size of the image. (So if the image is say 3428 x 2000, change it to something like 1,714 x 1000). When you save it the image will be much smaller than. You can also apply various levels of compression with JPG format. So that will reduce the image quality, but make the size more of the file smaller without reducing the image size. There are probably sites on the internet even that will reduce the size for you. Try Googling for "reduce image file size online" and see what you get.

I thought you guys would get a kick out of how much better I was getting , and the help of seasoned pros has been invaluable. Still pissed about the fake Argentina stamps! Hahaha

Its also nice to have a place to discuss stamps with people who also enjoy stamps, and not feel like I'm annoying my wife! Lol
  • You've come a long way DC, and it's been a real pleasure to watch you advance. There's still far more that you don't know that you don't know, and that's what's so much fun.
  • Whelp....we ain't your wife. As Robert Earl Keen Sang...The Road Goes on Forever and the Party Never Ends......Comma.
  • Ok, so....I'm back in Belgium on all 3 books and was wondering if anyone show an imperf on thick paper for Belgium 281? I might be looking at a fake or the wrong issue also....

    Thank you!
  • DC
I think it is cut from a Postal Card. Higgins & Gage Catalog 281 is a 90c Coat of Arms like this..Thats why a bit thicker & Imperf (No perforations as not from a stamp sheet) That is also why the writting from the reverse of the Postal Card. Keep up your great work!! Dan
  • Scott's doesn't have it listed....what type of retail is this thing at if you don't mind me asking in that guide?
  • Minimum value DC 90c rate is a low value.
  • K, thank you for that. So the imperf is min value same as the regular 281 used. Bummer, but somehow not surprising.

May increase the value if you just throw together a topical Lion collection lol threw my own stamps n others I see there is a ton of Lions on stamps Foreign and domestic Haha but I love them Lion n Tiger n Bear Revenues O My!
  • So now I'm being a pest....but, best guess on Belgium 52 a or c? I feel like there's a yellow tinge but not too sure on this one.
  • not sure but definitely dime yellow like old Bible paper/newspaper got the genuine age look! N the cancel looks old some ink from the cancel is gone 1897 dang!
  • For being 125 years old think that is why the yellow tinge just age patina, the rims look more darker tinge but could just be the eyes playing tricks with the shadows outlining the perfs! Pretty great Cancel postage mark though can't get much better though the ink looks half worn off or bleed threw other side!
Now I gonna look threw my Belgium stamps see if I got this 1 when I get back home! 90c isn't end of the world I think worth more as a collection bundle then solo sale but that could just me my thoughts!
  • Got a question obtaining to original topic so I got a lot of Washington Revenues and judging by the one's that look the same year and issue a few have ink in the shirt either going below the actual frame out lining or shorter shirt like less ink with a more fine outline around the shirt within frame are these consider errors n or Ink miss prints not sure let me know thanks if needed I can try n post a few pics tonight!
  • I'm gonna hit it as, grayish price and move on. Still a lot more coming, and I need to prioritize accuracy over speed in most cases, but not this case....
  • So, its been a long time since posting, just wanted everyone to know I'm taking a stamp break to finish my other hobby, which is money.

General question, anyone here know anything about currency errors (sorry I know this is a stamp page, but there'ssome super smart folks in here)? I found one just now that looks pretty promising and just wanted a second opinion.

  • Here's a fun story, I worked at a bank for a while. Took the silver certificate notes as a withdrawal (still basic dollar out, so it works out to simply the cost of a withdrawal). Most are simply, UNCOMMON (I gathered a ton so I thought it was cool to make x2 to x3 my money, even if it was on one dollar at a time).

I found some star notes also, worth x5 to x10. Pretty cool. However, one had an obvious error of the small part of a front of a note printed on the back. It is on the back and is a serious plate stamp error. Im thinking of ebay for a minimum (thats pretty absurdly high to start just to see).

    Thoughts?
